To all my Shipwreck and Maritime History Friends,

It's been a long year at the Chicago Maritime Museum. First they had to close for the pandemic and then in May, a bad storm with heavy rains caused major damage at the museum. After months of cleaning, repairing, and conserving, the museum is on track to be ready to reopen soon. They are also working very hard on updating exhibits and adding new ones.

The CMM Online Festival is only two days away on Thursday, October 22, 6:30. It's completely free to attend so please sign up and join us for this short, but fun event. Yes, it's primary purpose is a fundraiser, but you don't have to donate and there will be plenty of entertainment and the chance to meet famed Chicago adventurer and educator Bill Pinkney. The program starts with everyone in small, special interest groups and I hope you will join me in the Underwater Explorer's room, sponsored by Capt. Dave Truitt. So please register now and join your friends from the UASC in showing our appreciation and support of the museum by attending their first ever Online Festival. If you choose, a donation of $35 or more will include your 2021 CMM Membership.
