Hello,

Come join the UASC (Underwater Archaeological Society of Chicago) for our next meeting, this Wednesday, August 28th, at the Chicago Maritime Museum, 1200 W 35th St, Chicago, IL. This is in the Bridgeport Art Center Building. Enter at the door under the awning that says North Entrance off the north parking lot and go downstairs. We will start the meeting at 7:00pm.

This month, we will be discussing the UASC's recent investigations into the unidentified wrecks known as Mike’s Schooner and Mea's Tug. It has been a fascinating quest to discover the identity and history of these vessels. This work is ongoing, so there are still opportunities to get involved with these projects. At the August UASC meeting, we will take a thorough look at the survey work and research that has been done, discuss the hows and whys of the surveys and what the next steps will be. Each member of the survey team will share what their role has been, what they have learned and accomplished and their thoughts on the next steps. This meeting is a great opportunity to learn about the survey process and how the UASC works to discover our local history.
